Shalom Court Auckland Incorporated is a registered charitable Society with its primary object to operate and support a home for senior Jewish persons in need of rest home care. Any person with an interest in Shalom Court rest home may apply for membership of the Society at an annual subscription of $25. The committee administers all new applications for membership. The membership is known as FOSCA - Friends of Shalom Court Auckland. Members are entitled to vote at Annual General and Special Meetings, including the election of the committee. FOSCA members receive quarterly newsletters that detail occupancy rates, social functions, celebrations of Jewish festivals, capital expenditure, rule and policy changes, personnel matters, audit results, external relationships and networks, and other newsworthy information that affects the operation. During the year, the committee stages a number of educational, recreational and fundraising events. FOSCA members enjoy priority invitations to these events.
